Inter-Club Team Time-Trial

Novelty Time Trial on Wednesday 15th August 2007

On Wednesday, August 15, the Inter-Club team time-trial took place.
The 20 mile event is two laps of the Seskinore circuit and each club can enter A, B and C teams according to ability.

Lakeland had a depleted squad with injuries, illness and work commitments. As a result the Lakeland A team only had the minimum three riders. Each team is allowed five riders with the finish time of the third rider being the recorded time. Having three riders is risky as one puncture and the trial is over. The Lakeland B team had four riders and there was no Lakeland C team.

Lakeland A - Kenny Boylan, Dane Dunlop, Raymond Dunlop
Lakeland B - Neil Armstrong, Kenny Dunlop, Willie Dunlop, Raymond Pauley

Emyvale were the only other A team and with Paul Brady included it looked strong. Omagh had two B teams competing against Lakeland B. Omagh and Emyvale both had C teams.

With Kenny Boylan in good form and on his ‘scud missile’ Lakeland A set a great time in windy conditions. They finished with a time of 46 mins 39 secs, almost three minutes ahead of Emyvale A, with an average speed of just under 26mph. Lakeland B did well and finished second behind a strong Omagh B1 team which was only two seconds slower than Emyvale A. Thanks to the Omagh men who stepped in to marshal and time the event.

RESULT OF INTERCLUB TEAM TIME TRIAL:

Lakeland A 46:39
Emyvale A 49:29
Omagh B1 49:31
Lakeland B 51:16
Omagh B2 52:42
