Ray Does The Double

Time Trial 2 on Wednesday 25th April 2007

On Wednesday 25th April the second time trial of the year took place at McCaffrey’s Cross, Tempo. The 10 mile TT went from near McCaffrey’s Cross to Murley Cross and back. The weather conditions improved just before the start for the 23 riders in their ‘race of truth’. Riders were set of at one minute intervals as usual.

With an average speed of 26.7mph Raymond Dunlop came in first in a time of 22mins 27secs, quite possibly a new course record. Kenny Boylan was second with a time of 23 mins 9 secs and the ever improving Dane Dunlop was third with 23 mins 48secs. Neil Armstrong had a tremendous result tying for 7th place with Raymond Pauley in a time of 25mins 39secs. This time gave Neil joint first place with Willie Dunlop in the handicapped times for this event with Ian Caldwell third. Thanks to all the marshals who kept us going in the right direction.
