New Couse - Same Result!

Time Trial 3 on Wednesday 28th June 2006

A new 10 mile course was tested last Wednesday night as the Lakeland Cycle Club continued their Individual Time Trial League. A large number of riders participated on the new route which began at the Five Points and turned at the Gortatole junction.

The result, however, remained the same, with Kenny Boylan leading the way and setting an impressive time which now stands as a target for future races on the course. This result should not, however, detract from some of the other mentionable times acquired by the competitors. Credit has to go to Raymond Pauley's 3rd place which is a reflection of the hard mid-week training he does while in Dublin. Also, as a point of note, there is Kenny Dunlop whose devotion to turn out and compete so soon after completing a gruelling 3, 000 mile race acros America should act as an inspiration to others.

Neil Armstrong's 9th place has shown that he has had plenty of training during the summer months and it's paying off with a strong individual time.

With plenty of club road races yet to come in the season, it was great to see such a large number of riders out competing and riders posting respectable times which will only improve as they get stronger.
