10-mile Team Time-Trial

Team Time Trial on Wednesday 18th June 2003

After the trials of Monday’s evening event, was a two-up competition on the following Wednesday . The circuit was on the Tempo - Clabby Murley cross and back to Tempo road. The event was pitched between paired competitors and the pairing was done so no one strong team would dominate the event.

In the end though it was Raymond Dunlop that provided the driving force along with a young David McCullough to win the event. It was Wesley Foster and young Patrick Withers of Fintona CC that prevented the strong team of Ken Dunlop and Philip Irwin taking second place.

Even though Cecil Arthur and Ciaran Campbell came last these two competitors produced a very respectable time. especially as they where not using any fancy wind cheating, aerodynamic cycling equipment.

The next racing event held by Lakeland CC, is the 37mile Road-Race sponsored by Clogher’s HillTop Glazing. The event occurs on Wednesday June 25 on the Fivemiletown-Clabby Circuit and involves five laps of the circuit. The flat nature of the course usually entails a good turn out of competitors for this event.

Results: 1 Raymond Dunlop, David McCullough 25.17 2 Wesley Foster, Patrick Withers 25.38 3 Ken Dunlop, Philip Irwin 27.07 4 David Dunlop, Chris Withers, Willie Lyons 27.31. 5 Cecil Arthur, Ciaran Campbell 28.06
