2002 Tour Of Fermanagh Stage 4 - Peleton Stays Intact
TOF Stage 4 on Sunday 18th August 2002
As the riders gathered at the Bawnacre Centre for the final stage, the yellow jersey and King of the Hill jersey were still up for grabs and like a shepherd with his sheep, Kenny Dunlop held the pace high to successfully lead out David to take the final KOH prime.
This gave him an unassailable lead in the competition. Boylan, however, was still trying to regain the yellow jersey and had no alternativebut try to elude the race leader and steal at least 11 seconds on his rival.
However, the Banbridge man wasn't going to let things slip that easily and despite best efforts by Boylan and Foster to escape, the field finished together. The finish meant Evans retained his lead and had won the overall race by a mere 11 seconds after three days of tough racing. Kenny Boylan finished runner up with Henry Lynn in 3rd position.
