The Hill climb scheduled in this weekends calendar (Sunday 28th April) will be postponed until further notice due to it clashing with the Tour for Special Olympics.
Apologies for this but it will be rearranged for a later date which will be posted here.

David Matthews is organising a cycle to raise funds for a team kit (Track botoms, Tshirt & Top)
for 40 athletes and coaches in the Lakeland Special Olympics Club in Co. Fermanagh.

A logo for the club has ben designed by one of the Special Olympics athletes and having a team kit will give the athletes and coaches a real sense of identity.

There will be 2 options:

60 Miles - Enniskillen, Belcoo, Glenfarne, Manorhamilton, Garrison, (Pit stop

for tea & scones) Derrygonnelly Via Windmills & back to Enniskillen.

There will be a few side roads along the way and a few hills!

30 Miles - Enniskillen, Belcoo. (pit stop) Blacklion, Florencecourt & back to

               Enniskillen.

There will be a support vehicle for both routes, however participants are requested to have mechanically sound bikes, spare tubes & mobile phone in case of emergency.

Sign on is from 9.00am at Fermanagh Lakeland Forum with departure at 9.45am.

Entry Fee / Sponsorship £10 for 30 mile event and £20 for the 60 mile event.

Please support this very worthwhile cause & pass on details to anyone you think may be interested.

I look forward to seeing you on the 28th April.

Best regards,

David Mathews

Treasurer Lakeland Special Olympics Club

PS. Please let me know if you intend to take part and which cycle you wish to do.

On behalf of the committee the club would like to place on record its appreciation to all who assisted at this years Grand Prix event. A lot of work went in to what is reported to be a very good event and one of the best in the province. We are getting very good feed back from all who took part and from Cycling Ulster.
Thanks to all who helped you know who you are.....
And main man Tom big respect you did the most.....

All there was a problem with the format of the club calendar I posted.
This should now be printable for everyone.
Yes I know there's no Marshals yet. I'm a wee bit busy with other things.
See people on Wed. Hope to have race pack prepared for then with everyone given a corner or junction to marshal, or car to drive etc..

Pubble Tree Nursery - Lakeland Bikes Point - Point TT

15 riders turned up to the start of this point to point time trial on Wed last. Unfortunately for Raymond Kerr a puncture just before the start meant he couldn't take part.

Again in line with other events this season there were some really quick times and we are having to check the record books again to see if course records need to be revised. It was a close fought battle between Patrick McKenna and Martin Sherry from the Emmyvale club, with Patrick edging Martin out for the second week in succession.

The full list of finishers is as follows
1. Patrick McKenna, Emmyvale, 13:42
2. Martin Sherry, Emmyvale, 13:54
3. Raymond Dunlop, Lakeland, 15:02
4. Kenny Boylan, Lakeland, 15:09
5. Kieran McGrory, Lakeland, 15:15
6. William Dunlop, Lakeland, 15:27
7. Jim Mohan, Lakeland, 15:49
8. Roger Monaghan, Lakeland, 16:03
9. Arnold Hunter, Lakeland, 16:47
10. Roger Gillespie, Lakeland, 18:18
11. Gareth Lockhart, Lakeland, 19:18
12. Adrian Nicholl, Lakeland, 19:45
13. Michael McGowan, Lakeland, 21:06
14. Thomas Orr, Lakeland, 21:44

New Course Record on first TT this year.

There was a new course record set in the first Lakeland Bikes sponsored TT League on the five points to Gortatole course. The Winning time of 22:26 by Patrick McKenna (or average speed of 42.8 Kmph) was not completed in ideal conditions given the air temperature and strong breeze, so shows a rider in good form.

McKenna was pushed had all the was by Martin Sherry who completed the 10 mile (16Km) course in 23:01, with Kenny Boylan coming 3rd in a time of 24:29. A front wheel puncture saw Dane Dunlop come in well down the field in 10th, just one place behind Julian Dunlop, who happily managed to finish a Lakeland Club event without a mechanical or puncture.. Has he passed the jinx onto Dane ?

There were 15 riders in total who started, all finishing well under the half hour mark.
There is a hill climb at Noon's hole, near Boho this Sunday - Bus run leaving Forum at 10:00 am, followed by a Point to Point TT from Pubble Tree Nursery to Lakeland Bikes on Wed 10th April. Sign-on at 6:45-7PM at Pubble Tree Nursery, so if parking at Lakeland Bikes remember to leave time to cycle out to start.
