Hill Climb 5

Dane By 4 seconds at Noon's
On Sunday, August 17 a small band of wiry men assembled at the Forum to tackle the last hill climb of the year at Noon’s Hole near Boho. A tough, two mile climb from the junction on the road between Boho and Derrygonelly up to the cave.
Seven Lakeland riders and two Omagh Wheelers rode out to the event and were set off at one minute intervals on the climb. Kenny Boylan may have been King of the Mountains in the Ballinrobe two day race last weekend but on this occasion it was Dane Dunlop who was King of this Hill climb in a time of 7 minutes and 55 seconds, just four seconds ahead of Robbie Bryson in second. Omagh man, Brian Mimnagh was third in 8:08 with Kenny Boylan fourth in 8:15. There was little between hill rivals, Neil Armstrong and Peter Martin, with Neil just shading it this time.
